Vice President of Sales
Required General Key Attributes and Experience
Serve as our sales leader, as a "trusted advisor" to clients, not just selling company products and services, but educating and providing trusted counsel to customers and prospects. You will need to demonstrate past sales success in the enterprise software application environment.
Responsibilities
- As a trusted advisor and sales leader, help the company expand our EE/DSM enterprise solution footprint
- Achieve sales targets
- Proactively manage customers’ satisfaction by anticipating potential service challenges, and monitoring satisfaction
- Full sales cycle responsibility, lead all aspects of the sales process, calling upon others to assist in solution development and proposal delivery, as needed, or as directed by management
- Help the company to explore, discover and strategize new business opportunities that are not necessarily in the company’s DSM sweet spot such as EV, DER program management. Help articulate ideas and strategies for potential new business offerings
- Actively participate in the definition of the product roadmap evolution
- Actively participate in and contribute to RFP replies, as follows:
- Follow our sales pipeline methodology and maintain a clean and reliable level of sales metrics
- Continue to improve the sales pipeline process and outbound efforts, resulting in increase in overall sales efficiency
- Participate, initiate and help drive marketing / PR initiatives to help drive sales
- Help grow, nurture and mentor a sales organization over time and be able to report to management and/or Board of Directors quarterly sales metrics
- As needed (post COVID-19), travel to meet prospects and/or existing clients, travel to conferences
- Establish strong relationships with company Professional Services, Engineering and other internal resources as appropriate
Required Skills
- Team player
- 10 to 15 years of software sales experience
- 7+ years of software sales experience in the utility and/or DSM third-party implementer sector
- Ability and track record of driving business in a strategic manner for demand generation
- Experience selling into large strategic enterprise accounts, particularly Investor-Owned Utilities (IOUs)
- Solid understanding of the application selling/CRM space, preferably in cloud / SaaS space, strong preference to having Salesforce experience
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to influence and lead people
- Excellent writing, presentation and listening skills
- Excellent pipeline management skills and high discipline in keeping pipeline records
- Independent self-starter
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Strongly preferred: 4+ years of experience in Salesforce technologies
- Master's in Business / Bachelor of Science-technology and or business related
